After several tournaments in November and December 2021, culminating with two outstanding performances in back-to-back games versus Liberty Heights National Team in separate tournaments followed by an exceptional performance against Winston-Salem Christian National Team, Trey soon became respected as one of the best shooters in North Carolina going into the 2021 John Wall Holiday Invitational. There, NC GBB Academy National Team would face perennial prep national powerhouse Brewster Academy and Trey would go 6-7 from deep 3 point range and lead NC GBB Academy National Team to the victory, along the way claiming the Player of the Game award. As the 2022 Grassroots Basketball season began, Trey played with Garner Road’s 3SSB 17u team.
